I've learned that my standards are always higher than my clients' standards. So ask them what they think and if it's not 100% positive, then offer a reshoot. But don't initiate a confession if they are not disappointed.

Im betting that although they arent up to your standards that the family would still love what you shot. Maybe offer them a portion of the fee back because you felt you could do better or offer a reshoot and allow them to keep both sets ? Maybe fib…

where have you been all my life.
i was always torn... "is it hard?" "overrated?" "is a 4x6 really big enough?" etc. etc.
but i finally took the plunge (after being let down by adoramas claim to having a refurb 6x8 in stock :( ) and here i am..
took about half an hour to get the hang of it, and now im hooked.
yet i know i still have loads to learn. (im still lost with the whole pressure sensitivity thing, it all looks the same :/

so here it is...
yes, its super ghetto, and yes, color correcting (or a custom white balance setting) is a must, but other than that, it works beautifully (imho)
a generic how to..
i took a piece of foam core (id really like a wooden frame or something more stable in the future) and cut out a large circle, with a smaller circle inside, so were dealing with a large donut, then i wrapped it in foil, tapping it on the back side. after this i… Continue
