LEVEL OF EXPERTISE:
Hobbyist
I SHOOT THE FOLLOWING:
Artistic, Event Coverage, Models & Headshots, Portrait, Commercial
MY PHOTO GEAR:
Nikon D100 with a Nikon DX 18-105mm VR lens. In the past I sometimes used a Polaroid i733. I also have a Gary Fong Puffer. I can't afford much in the way of equipment at the moment.
MY DIGITAL DARKROOM:
Paint shop pro, CS3, Photoshop Elements 6, Wacom Intuos 4x6, Huey Pro color calibrator.
ABOUT ME:
I was a Commercial Art Major at JCTC and in Photo 4 when I was called back by the Dept. of Commerce from lay off. (I'm a Lead Clerk, which is basically an Assistant Supervisor, for the U.S. Census Bureau/NPC ) I've put school on the back burner for a while, a decent paycheck and insurance for me and my daughter is too good to pass up right now. I still shoot when I can, and feel like I'm still coming up with some very nice work! :)

Some of the photos I have on here don't look like photos. I do a lot of symmetrical pieces with multiple copies of the same shot that are joined. I may alter color or texture, orientation, saturation, etc. , but I rarely ever change the shapes or lines of a shot. I see things that other people don't, so I help the world to see what I see by making it more obvious to the eye.

I'm very big into Nature photography. I can go in the woods with my camera and not come out for hours. I find a sense of peace in the woods with my camera.

I do photography for a local band that is popular on the bar circuit, called Self Inflicted. They are currently the WSFR House Band. I grew up with some of them and their wives and I'm very proud of the boys. They RAWK!!!

I don't just consider myself a Photographer, I'm an Artist. I've been an apprentice to a local Master Potter, Melvin Rowe, for about 2yrs now. (My Pottery blog contains shots of some of my work. I also draw, paint a little, and make my own hemp jewelry. Art is my passion, my soul.

My Pottery

Posted on October 25, 2009 at 11:22pm 2 Comments

I'm not only into Photography, but I've been an apprentice to world renowned Master Potter, Melvin Rowe, since April of 2008. I can't say enough about how having Melvin and his wife, Vivian, take me under their wings has changed my life for the better. I consider them family. Melvin is a patient teacher and I have learned much from him, even though I know I have only just begun to scratch the surface of what there is to know about pottery. It's a very hands on and time intensive process. When… Continue

Super Outbreak of April 3/4, 1974

Posted on December 14, 2008 at 4:30pm 3 Comments

The "Super Outbreak of 1974" was the second worst storm system ever recorded for the United States in the 1900's. It is still studied around the world today. It spawned 148 tornadoes that covered a total of 2,500 miles with their paths. 330 people died and over 5,000 were injured.

I'm an F4 survivor from the Super Outbreak. Hanover IN, April 3, 1974. I was not quite 4, but close, when this happened. Me, my Mother, and my step brother were the only ones home at the time. An F4 is… Continue

A cricket poopin'? That was hilarious! Yeah, you might as well do something that is as much therapeutic as it is anything else, huh? Photography is that and more.
