When I work in isolation, meaning that I stop making an effort to interact/show work only with people who are going to limit their comments to what they like about my work, my work stagnates. When people limit critiques to compliments, it not only…
I enjoyed meeting you at thr gathering and appreciate the link which I will definitely follow up on sooner hopefully than later. I have enjoyed lookig at your work on here, and look forward seeing more.
My training/education is in art education with a studio emphasis in photography. My primary interest is in artistic work. I work with both digital and film and am interested in discovering ways to integrate film and digital processes. When ever possible, I still enjoy working in a wet darkroom, including alternate processes such as the cyanotype and kalotype. I also like to work with a Holga occasionally because I like processes that have a high probability of accidents.
frank, this is the exhibit i was telling you about:
The Day of Small Things
Photographs by Michael Wilson
Transitions
The Dresden Project / Photographs by Fredrik Marsh
Thank you for your nice comments. I don't know if your interested, but I'm working on putting together a bunch of photo shoot in and out of town with alumni from Eastern. It makes going to abandoned places a little bit safer. I really want to go to Gary Indiana. I have a list of huge open buildings within 5 minutes of each other. I was inspired by a photographer whose work is on forbidden places.com. They are awesome. My little girls won't be going on that photo shoot=) Anyways if you are ever interested on going on a photo shoot let me know.
btw-I am enjoying your photo style here on the slideshow. have you seen martin parr's work? his, and wolfgang zurborn, a german photographer I know, might interest you.
Frank, I wanted to thank you for your kind and enthusiastic comments on the work. I really appreciate you taking the time to look and comment - it means allot to me.
