Carl Lutes said… Thanks Dale, I'm also looking forward to meeting more people, both online and at the get togethers. I'm an amateur, with only a point-and-shoot camera. But I'm hoping to take a lot more photos and learn a lot from you guys.
Thanks for the welcome Dale. Looking forward to having "local" photographers to socialize with. As far as get togethers, as long as they don't interfear with my odd work schedule, I would love that!
Take care,
Kenny

I definitely appreciate your advice, but I've looked into using Picasa before for photo editing and didn't find it as helpful as what I can do with Paint.NET. I like using Paint.NET (note; this isn't MS Paint-- common misconception by many whom I mention it to) because I can go over to their forums and download user-made plugins to use on my photos. I do, however, use Picasa regularly for organization (online at least) and fast upload/sync to my Picasaweb online albums. I find Picasa/Picasaweb very helpful when I'm showing the work the school newspaper or yearbook has assigned for me.
As far as anything Macintosh related... It was a nice try :P I doubt I'll ever budge away from using PC's. Of course, I'm completely up to learning how to use a Mac (which I will probably have to do) if the situation presents itself.
Enjoy your shooting! It's nice to make new friends in the photography community, especially locally.
William
