The Golden Age of Film

An "antique" film projector in the lobby of the offices to the Plaza Theatre in Glasgow, Kentucky. Stepped in to take some shots and a extremely nice fella told and showed me what it used for a lightsource back then. Welding rod. Yup,,in the projection chamber a welding rod about 12-18 inches long was put into a mount and pulled back until it arced. Then the operator had to stand ther for about an hour slowly pulling the welding rod back to keep the arc lit for projection. If you've ever welded that would be like welding with stick straight through an hour. It was cool

I really like what you did with this one JJ. This would look great hanging up in the movie room.
