Thanks Nina! This was actually frost on my truck windshield, taken from inside the cab using Kenko extension tubes mounted on a Nikon 18 - 200mm VR lens for the macro effect along with a SB600 for the light. As scale, I'd say each piece of frost you see in the image was in reality about a quarter of an inch at the longest side at maximum. If I get the opportunity to shoot the frost again I will capture a non-macro for comparison.

That's beautiful! How and where did you shoot that? Would be nice to see some kind of scale comparison.
