Permalink Reply by Susie Lundmark on April 14, 2010 at 3:31pm Ryan's probably off photographing scantily clad guys somewhere, so I'll answer for him...because he told me why he did it. He said he doesn't want to moderate the site. And so to keep prospective "photographer-seeking" clientele from being ran off by risqué pics, he tucked them all behind a handy dandy "Photos" tab....and unfortunately everybody Pics else's too. I think it would be better to have a Risque' tab, or some other 'checkbox' filter that an uploader would check to automatically filter their uplads from the general population area. To be blatantly honest, as a former porn addict, I really don't care to see a nude chick thrown at me upon arriving at the site. Nothing wrong with nude chicks but that should be my choice, not somebody else's. That's the biggest part of why I disappeared from the site for almost a full year. But by the same token, seeing all the recent photos when arriving to the site is huge and makes LPC stand out among photography forums, in my opinion. So what if you give non-paying user a little bit of free exposure on the main page. A borring interface won't draw prospective clientele the same way a bunch of pics will.
Having said all that, I think Ryan deserves a pat on the back for the job he's done so far.
