Was contacted by a national PR firm who want me to shoot a 7-hour conference in this area. For weddings I'd charge $300/hour but somehow that seems overkill for this.

They want to use the pics for their website and possible literature. I am thinking $800. Thoughts?

Key words here "National pr firm"!
I would charge $200 per hour since there will not be much post processing.
sounds reasonable...thanks. hey, did your randy houser shoot ever go up on pollstar? I'd love to see the gallery if it's up.

HAHA, I forgot all about that!
Yeah, they have a few of them posted on there.
What about licensing rights? Do they want all of the copyright to your images? That can get pricey.
Sometimes I think we get WAYYYYYYYYYYY to caught up in the whole LICENSING RIGHTS thing!
If it is an easy gig to shoot, and I can run and gun and wash my hands of the project, sometimes I will just charge my $200 per hour and move on!
That't what I did. I know we're not "supposed to", but I'm with you on that.
