The Next Meet-Up.....Let's have some sort of theme that's not tired and worn out, eh?

The nice weather is on the way. I wouldn't mind doing another night-shots event when it warms up a bit. But I'm just wondering if anybody has any ideas they're wanting to pursue. I'm thinking of Saturday, Feb. 13th for a possible date. Some people don't care about shooting buildings....so another possibility is that some of us might even take turns modeling for the others. Granted, I'm nothing to look at but it beats shooting a tree. I do however know of a few good looking trees. Hmmm.
At any rate, OK...so you can shoot a building. But can you shoot the building with somebody in the foreground and have both properly exposed? It's time to hone those skills. This is obviously aimed at the junior members...you know, the ones who would actually show up to a meet.

I'll get the ball rolling with Feb. 13th. The rest will be filled in by the interested party. Once general interest refines the meet-up specifics then an 'event' will be posted.

Well, as a "Pro" I guess I will not come.
I kinda like the boring, worn out style of meet-ups.
Valentine's Weekend, I plan on being hugged up with the wife while you are shooting pics of buildings.
So, big guy......are you going to able to make the Nightshots event on the 25th this month, or do you need more time to pout? :)

not valentine's weekend but....another.

Like this weekend (the 5th), there is an event at the Speed and the gallery hop on Market. It would be interesting to do a meetup where everyone shot the events and then shared the results after. Discussing technical issues or applications, etc. A little brain sharing and photo fun. I think pros and non pros can learn a lot from each other.
dude, the 13th? its Valentine's day weekend! ..read "weekend" :)
Ok, ok, total f*ck up on my part. Cut me some slack, I'm going on little sleep ; ) ...

Ok people....brain fart on my part. I deserve the flack. :). My wife would kill me if I went out shooting pics on the 13th. The reason I targeted that weekend instead of this coming weekend is because I'm on-call starting Friday. Also it was to give people enough notice instead of springing it on everybody. "quick-meet-up this weekend". There's nothing stopping anybody from Erica's gig for anybody just dying to get out. Otherwise, I move that this potential event be moved to Feb. 20th.

Yeah, your right Ryan......I guess I worded that wrong because you've shown up to most of the get-togethers. Actually you, Jason, Brittany and others that are more or less established photographer's. It just perturbs me a bit that apparently there are some photographer that hang around on LPC only for their own gains. They're all over the place on LPC but when it's time to meet-n-greet, they never show up. Sorry if it sounds like I have a bad attitude but selfishness just pisses me off. I gladly share what knowledge I've learned with others. It's actually fun. But not everybody sees it that way. At any rate, everybody should be done shagging by the 20th, right? :)
I admit it--I have not been able to make it to the LPC get-togethers. Jonathan did represent for me at one, though! I really wanted to make it to the last one, but it was the day before we left for Imaging USA and I had not packed, gotten the client orders done, etc.

I suck. I will do my best to make it to the next one, I promise--and Charles, I will sit by you the entire night and bond with you!
Well I'm in for whatever gets planned! NOT Valentine's weekend, though. I won't be snuggling, but I've got 4 shoots booked. I have 2 the next weekend, but I can fit in some LPC time! :)

If it's any proof that I am social, Brittany and I did hang out on the streets of Nashville during Imaging USA and watched Ryan have a pow-wow with a cool homeless dude.
Rosemary, I didn't have any one individual in mind when I said that. I love all LPC'ers.....even Yono. I don't want to make anybody feel bad or guilty, certainly not you, but it would be a big deal for some of the newcomers if the more established types showed up and shared a few tips.

Brittany, can you book one more? I always wanted pics of me snuggling with a German/Viking/Swedish chick. :)
Also, there seems to be enough interest at this point. Suggestions of locale might be a good idea. One of the first meets was at the Bon Air branch of the LFPL. That's a possibility although not the most exciting possibility, unless the topics were maybe lighting and modeling, or something along those lines. If that were the case, the first person that comes to mind is Master Nikon Lightsmith: John Adkins. I think it would be cool to have a few words offered not only on Speedlites/Speedlights, but on studio strobes as well. I could bring in my 1600ws Interfit kit unless somebody prefers to bring in AlienBees. This could go on forever from lighting-metering-triggering-etc.
