Everyone - I was just wondering if LPC ever got into things that involved giving back to the community? I've read several articles lately regarding photographers getting together and taking photos of terminally ill children, or children who may be in a situation like Home of the Innocents, The Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep projects, Wednesday's Child, etc.

Just curious if there may be any interest with people here in doing something like that? I am a HUGE believer in Karma and bringing the good chi back around to you, and thought this might be a good way for LPC members to give back.

Thoughts?

A group community project sounds like a great idea. Also the senior pic idea is great, I would be happy to participate in that if there is enough need.
i want in!

i keep tossing nilmdts around. its scary, but im going to ask court questions and hope to put my mind (somewhat) at east.. when i have time.

something like home of the innocents and stuff. i think i could totally do. the seniors rosemary mentioned, TOTALLY! shoot. id even be down with hooking some bustin their butt low income families with an 8x10 or two of their rugrat.

and for the record. i do believe in "karma" i spose. but i dig this stuff for the personal gratification (yes, it makes me happy to make others happy)
Makes me happy too Jes. Fills me heart will warm fuzzies and I get a sense of accomplishment and having done something nice for the world. I think I might make some phone calls and do some research this week. I'll report my findings later. I am leaning towards the Senior photos - great idea! (I have some contacts down at Family & Children services) or something with Wednesday's child (children who need to be adopted, but can't find homes). The NILMDTS program already has sooooooo many great people that help, I am thinking our services might be better put to use in an area where they have a hard time finding photographers to donate time.

And hey - thanks everyone for the positive feedback.
awesome sara! yes, please DO share. this is something im VERY interested in!
