Hi All! I am new to the board and am just wanting to learn so much! I wanted to make my first discussion a fun one and discuss all of the great places around Louisville to photograph people. I'm referring to all of the graffitied, torn down, GREAT spots everyone finds. I saw a beautiful white fence with gorgeous white trees behind it that could easily be put of out focus and look great. I might go back to see who's land it is and if they would let me bring a couple out there. I recently moved here from Boring Green so I'm not too familiar with some of these great hidden gems!

4th Street is golden if you're looking for "columns".....lots of them there south of the library at York and 4th
i want to go on a scavenger hunt for places. i have a list of every thing i would love to find and once it gets nice, i'm going in search of everything.
thats awesome jackie! make sure to share your findings. ;)

im new to the area too, so i dont have much to offer. im big on urban decay and things of that nature. there was a thread i started way back when involving locations. maybe 2 got mentioned. but its worth searching for i suppose.
So you went to WKU and now you live in Louisville? Since you have one of them fancy college educations, you should have no trouble getting them there pictures. Besides, the seed of Yono was likely born with a camera in hand.

I would suggest rummaging through the picture gallery here and finding areas that interest you. And then inquire of the uploader as to where the picture was taken. Look at Lizzie's photos, too. Go to www.lizziemorrison.com. Lizzie has an extensive collection of images from around Louisville and beyond. It's almost like a 3d version of Google Maps with pretty processing.

I do believe it difficult to have an original thought, or an original location. However, you can create an original photograph from just about anything. I take pictures of my sock drawer all the time. Well, not all the time, but often. Well, maybe not often, but sometimes. Well, not that often either. But I did photography my sock drawer once. Well, maybe I didn't. But I do get my socks out of there. And they are usually matched. Usually. Okay, maybe not.
Haha, Sock Drawer huh?

Well one thing is true, I was born with a camera in hand. Haha. Well I think I was 2 or 3 when I got my first actual camera. Well I'm going on a hunt tomorrow or Sunday and I'll report my findings.

Jes- I would love to find some sights like that. I'll just have to take the camera and head out!

I sent you a friends frequest today.

I read the article below and was going to post it inthe forum when I saw your Scavenger Hunt idea.

Well it has gotten cold on us now - but when it warms up I wouldlike to sugggest we get a small group of us together and do this scavenger hunt idea. You can count me in.  Look at the attached article and see if this inspires you.

How many old abandoned or for sale churches do we have in Louisville?

I am interested - if you are and maybe a couple more people- this could be a good LPC project.
