A woman from Muralsyourway.com contacted me on my flickr, apparently someone contacted them and wants a wall mural of one of my photos. Anyway, I've never done something like this before and was wondering how much I should charge. She asked for a full size file btw

Anybody?
I honestly don't know!
Here's what she said

"Hi Sam .. yes, my client found (or saw your photo somewhere) and thinks it would be a perfect fir for a project they are working on! She would like to have a wall mural made from your photo. So what I am looking for is first, to see if you would give permission for her to do so and second, to get a high resolution file of the image for a one time use for this mural. We work with many artists and photographers (this may be something you are interested in pursuing – by having your images available for the general public – each time a client uses one of your images – you are paid, but this is a different action than the one requested). Would you be willing to give her permission – and if so, would you have a charge for this high resolution file? Look forward to hearing from you soon. I have copied my client on this e-mail also.

Thanks!"
Mmmh, that's a toughie. I usually turn to the pricing guru John Harrington for other pricing questions, but there's nothing on there about a mural.
I guess my question would be "what's the mural's size?", "what is the picture being used for?" advertising? art? personal use?, "where will it be displayed?" in public? in a private home?
The more you can find out the better you can price this. I can try to help you with my Fotoquote software, once you find out more.
Yeah, you REALLY need to find out where this mural will be located.
Also, from the sound of the email, she is trying to get your image for free.

From what understand, a mural is pretty permanent, so the term "one-time use" is superfluous. It seems like a way to make it sound like you shouldn't charge more, because, after all it is being used only ONCE . Find out the details and let's price it! But more so, what is the picture like? Can you post it here?
Yea I was thinking I'd start with something like $500 to see if she balks, but I was worried she'd say forget about it.

ALSO, the client is Lewis Interiors on Herr lane, so I'm trying to find out if they'd be displaying it in their building to show people that they can use murals or if they're putting it in a home
Well it's an interior designer doing a house at Homerama and they want it for the Media Room. I said $500, waiting (and hoping) for a reply
Good Luck! It is a beautiful image!
How big is it gonna be? I still think $500 is the least they should pay you. Nice picture!
