Hello All-

I have been accepted to have a booth at the Cherokee Triangle Art Fair for April 23-25, and being a rookie, I was hoping to get some advice on how best to prepare my prints for sale.

As some of you already know, I specialize in panoramic format and have the prints made at a very convenient semi-standard size of 12"x 36"  (other smaller versions will be available, as well).

The question I have is this: How best do I present these to make it easiest for the customer to walk away with such an awkwardly sized print? Is it imperative that I mat them? If so, how best do I bag them? Shrink wrap? How do I do that so that it still looks professional?

Or do I offer them un-matted in the cheap-ish poster frames one can get. This might cheapen the whole product.

I am considering gallery wraps, too, but, that gets quite expensive.

At a dinky art fair last summer, I displayed framed prints and offered them rolled up in cardboard tubes that worked pretty well, but then it is extra work for the customer to have them framed etc..., but I plan to have this as an option.

Nina has given me good advice to offer them matted, and after a sale, set them aside for the buyer to collect on the way out.

Also (I know..) I was thinking $175 as a price point. Too high? Low?

Any input would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

Hello?
Yeah I plan to have smaller sizes available as well- all matted. I will display basic black framed versions of the images. Just a lot to consider, as I don't want to be under stocked.
So far this is the only advice stop I've made.
Thanks, Ed.
