Consider building a model mayhem portfolio. This way you can find all sorts of models in your area and then hopefully work with them! :)
Model Mayhem SUCKS. It's just a MySpace for amateurs and wannabes. I've never met anyone who actually got work from the site and they actually discourage business.

I have a friend working on a Group Photo Shoot where multiple models work with multiple photographers in a controlled setting. Send me your information and I will forward it to her.

By the way, you are going to have to leave E-town and come to the big city for this kind of work. Also, realize that you will be appealing to beginners who don't really know how to pose and work the camera.

Read the "Articles" link on my website www.zymage.com about modeling in Louisville.
I have not got a clue as to what "model mayhem" is....I'm fairly new as to being a photographer.....granted I've been taking pictures since I was in middle school...but we all know that there is a difference...
I love giving models direction and all that....and moving outside the etown area will be fine....
well, i havnt had someone to exchange shooting/modeling with in ages, and believe it or not, i enjoy being in front of the camera (maybe only half as much as behind it, but still)

so, im not in e-town, but if you want to get together and take turns playing dress up or what have you, im all about it.
sweet jes...thanks
i can play model as well anytime and would love to shoot with you.

also my wife acts as my model a lot and she would love to have a new photographer to work with.

hit me up on here and we can figure things out

I guess it just depends on how you work. I like to see the positive.

Its just a place where lots of people from different areas can come to network about this sort of work. You can search for people in your area that are interested in doing the same things you are. Its just a meeting place really. Its a good start~! :)

Model Mayhem is what it is.
I started a profile there when I first got my strobes. I did a few freebies to learn the lights, now I charge for a shoot. MM is great like that.

I think it is funny that you, Jacob, of all people hate MM. You cruise 4th st. Live for models!
I my best friend was my usual model....but the kids started getting in the way ALOT of us being able to take pictures...that and I moved...
I'll look into that model mayhem site...

thanks to all ya for helping me out!!!!
It is a good place to start. Sadly, the site clearly states that users are not to use MM for business purposes. So once you start, it becomes useless.

I would also recommend OMP which has been around a lot longer: www.onemodelplace.com. My number is 130351.

Joey shoots artistic work and seeks models for that. MM is fine for that activity. But if your work is more commercial than artistic and photography is more about business than meeting models, it's not very helpful.

Ryan, I have not "cruised" (scouted) for models for over a year now. When I did, it was because I needed them for print, runway and promotional work. I now have a pretty large network and tighter group of regulars I can count on for jobs.

Fourth St. does often serve as a networking tool, but it's more about potential clients and aspiring models finding me there.
