What is GPS for on a camera?? In case you get lost while shooting on location?

I think it's more about where you've taken the shot. It embeds long/lat in the meta.

$100! I think I toss it at an enemy for that price! It is a little brick!
I will have to read so reviews of the new Nikon. When I bought my G9, I really wanted the Nikon version of this camera, but all the reviews SUCKED for it. RIGHT NOW, the G9 is by far the best point and shoot for the money. Hopefully that will change with the new Nikon.
